Gastautoren Programm

It's always a good idea to have a variety of voices speaking from within the text; to mix every language, even those said to be incompatible. As Barthes writes, the text of pleasure is a sanctioned Babel in which there is demonic plurality and no single point of origin or authority. 

This can lead to conflict, contradiction, and confusion, but I'd rather risk these things than simply have just the one voice - my voice - speaking with with all the cold insistence of an orator who demands to be heard, or a writer who addresses himself to his readers without actively seeking them out.

And so, after two years and almost 400 posts, I am pleased to finally announce what might be termed the Gastautoren Programm. 

Over the coming months, various friends and loved ones - as well as those I admire, but do not necessarily find attractive - will be asked to contribute ideas and images to Torpedo the Ark. I might not always wish to endorse their views - might not always want to cruise their bodies - but that's precisely the point. 

Whether any of the individuals asked to participate in the guest writers programme will actually choose to do so, is, of course, something that remains to be seen ...
